Maka Tribute, Bridge Clear-out Sales Continues

July 24, 2008 · Leave a Comment

5 years, 5 long seasons, 5 years worth of silent but efficient work that has prompted Chelsea back to glory days, despite setbacks in the last 2 seasons. Finally Claude Makelele has left the club to return to his homeland to play for PSG.

Widely regarded as the best holding midfielder in this time, Makelele or Maka as he’s fondly known to us fans has been a great servant, loyal to the club for 5 good years. Finally nearing the pinnacle of his career at the grand old age of 36, his move back to PSG would no doubt be the best way for him to end his playing career.

Despite being small in frame and short in statute, Maka has never given any doubts about his ability in his position. His tackles are timely, and his passes, short no doubt but very accurate.

In fact, he performed his role on the pitch, the link between attackers and defenders to almost perfection that the holding midfielder position has been even named the “Makalele position“.

In fact Maka’s so good, even big strikers find it tough trying to get past him. From the word Go, Maka will be constantly tailing the man he’s supposed to mark, giving him absolutely no chance of free space. Franky Lampard & Drogs might be the men who bang in goals, but without Maka, there will be no Chelsea of today.

Its true Maka do not score much goals, but when he does, its of top class quality. Remember the Spurs game? No? it was an absolute screamer. Sure, we lost that game, but the way Maka drilled that 25 yarder volley into the bottom corner of Paulie Robinson’s right hand corner will forever be remembered by us Blues faithful as the best Maka goal ever.

So, to Maka who’s already packed up and back in France, We at The Bridge will wish you good luck and thank you for all that you’ve done for us so far. Sobs. hah

MEANWHILE

Chelsea’s summer clear-out sale continues, with Tal Ben-Haim the latest to be dumped from the Bridge setup, with the likes of Malouda, Pizzaro and SWP soon to follow.

Ben-Haim who was practically crap in the few meagre appearances he made in a Blue shirt last season will be the third player to leave the club following Steve Sidwell’s transfer to Aston Villa as well as Khalid Boulahrouz’s move to VFB Stuttgatt. and I say GOOD RIDDANCE.

oh by the way, Sidwell score an own goal on his Villa debut. Simply the best way to introduce yourself as Gareth Barry’s replacement huh. Good Job Martin O’Neil. Luckily Big Phil was smart enough to shove him out ASAP.

Bye Siddy, we ain't gonna miss ya!

Bye Siddy, we ain't gonna miss ya!

Another douche bag at the Bridge that really needs to be shown the exit is Florent Maloucheda. Despite all the promises of attacking flair and quality, Malouche only played well in the first few games before totally fading away and finally ending the season on the table. Great lot of promises huh. Good think Roma is interested in a douche bag such as this because we’re simply not.

leave you lousy kaki bangku bugga..we DON'T want you!

leave you lousy kaki bangku bugga..we DON'T want you!

With transfer rumors nothing but simply rumors, the best news so far was that Michael Essien and Wayne Bridge signed new deals to stay Blue.

Oh, another bit of good news is that RUMORS had it that Barca had already prepared the €25mil needed to bring Drogs away. Finally!

Now, before I sign out, lemme remind you guys that Chelsea will playing in Malaysia on July 29. GO, by hook or by crook and watch the game! Blues Rule!

Cheers!

Milan Coup

July 22, 2008 · 1 Comment

Today lets all forget about impending transfers as well as rumors and lets take a look at one already outstanding done deal.

I was browsing through Goal.com when i came upon this interesting bit of news. it tells of the most impressive summer capture so far, and i can only duly agree.

whilst Spurs have lit up the market by signing the impressive Luka Modric, as well as Barca for beating out competitions by bringing in the best attacking fullback the world has seen since Roberto Carlos in the form of Dani Alves, it seems those are not as good as AC Milan’s efforts.

Modric - set to don the Lilywhite of Spurs

Dani Alves - 2 thumbs up Barca

Dani Alves - 2 thumbs up Barca

well if you were thinking of one toothy Brazilian rabbit, you’ve thought wrong.

that toothy Brazilian may be a masterclass signing, for only €16 million, yet Milan have another signing which could be the best this summer.

Dinho - faded star?

Dinho - faded star?

That comes in the form of the unheralded Frenchman, who yet played a huge part in Arsenal’s season as the versatile combative midfielder, Matthieu Flamini.

bye Whinner@Wenger, thats for not offering me a better contract

bye Whinner@Wenger, thats for not offering me a better contract

Flamini was a relative unknown when Arse Whinner signed him a few seasons back. But Whinner’s signings have always been good, and true enough Flamini soon established himself as a first team regular in the side, disposing Gilberto Silva( who has hence moved to Panathinaikos) of his holding midfielder’s role.

Being a French, many would expect him to be a lightweight of sorts and thus be unsuitable for that position. But Flamini’s adaptability and versatility soon proved critics wrong.

He was instrumental in Arse-nal’s early charge to the title last season(before fading out at the end), and also played a huge role in Arse-nal’s run in the Champions League.

His ablity to be able to score vital goals in vital games at vital moments also proved to be very useful, and that coming from a player who plays the position of trying to shackle up the holes in midfield.

Yet however, when the time for contract talks came, my friendly neighbourhood rivals decided that it’ll not be worth it to offer Flamini a pay hike, deciding that he’ll still need to prove himself. and for that, on behalf of Chelsea and all the other Premier League hopefuls, I thank Arse-nal. that was simply pure brilliance.

So, Milan came calling, with a larger paycheck and better shots at glory. What do you think Flamini would do? Pack his bags and leave.

Oh ya, did i mention that, it was on a FREE TRANSFER?

Now you know why its the coup of the summer, so far?

And, if Whinner keeps to his word and makes sure Arse-nal becomes a selling club, we at the Bridge will forever be grateful to him.

Whinner - damn, now who should i sell next? Eva?

Whinner - damn, now who should i sell next? Eva?

Cheers!

Arrogant Manure

July 19, 2008 · Leave a Comment

When i woke up this morning and went through my daily dose of footy news from the web, the headline over every sports site was this, Tottenham Accused Man Utd for being Arrogant.

now, i would prefer to write a post on Chelsea, but since transfer dealings has been rather slow, with the exception of Sidwell leaving, i decided that this would be a great time to diss my favorite rivals, Manure, or more commonly known among the crazy brainwashed and mindfucked fanboys as Manchester United.

Manure have been targeting Spurs’ unsettled Bulgarian striker, Dimitar Berbatov since early this year. yet Spurs have been reluctant to sell. I mean, c’mon, which wanker in their right state of mind would sell their best striker to a rival team in the SAME league, competing for the SAME honors? even a 5 year old kid would tell you to piss off

Berbatov - whats' next? Manure's red?

Berbatov - whats' next? Manure's red?

Berbatov is a perfect example of a greedy footballer, besides Christina Ronaldo. he’s so greedy, he would rather betray the club that brought him into the EPL and join a GAY team.

Yes Manure is GAY and SISSY. Don’t believe me? Check this out then;

Christina doing the Fairy Fairy Shake

so this is what you do despite earning that enormous paycheck huh, Christina.

if that ain't a sissy jump, i don't what it is then.

if that ain't a sissy jump, i don't what it is then.

Christina & Eva having a tease

Christina & Eva having a tease

Goodness, imagine a parent’s horror if Manure’s academy come scouting for their kids. Mortifying.

oh by the way, you guys can read more on the Fairy Fairy Shake at lilytheliverbird’s blog. i have the link on my sidebar.

anyways, back to the arrogance topic. Daniel Levy, Spurs’ chairman shot Manure, saying that Big Red Ferge is a hypocritical bugga. you have to admit, Mr. Levy’s got a point a here.

First Manure shot down Real Madrid’s interest in Christina claiming that Real were being unethical and then lodging a report with FIFA. Now, they’re doing the exact same thing to Spurs, by claiming that they have already signed Berba despite clearly not.

WHO THE HELL DO THEY THINK THEY ARE?!!

Spurs should just tell Manure and Ferge to sod off. Personally i would love to smack Ferge in the face. Arrogant Red Faced Fat Scot.

Ferge - Ooh lookie at me! I'm a constipating Tomato!!!

Ferge - Ooh lookie at me! I'm a constipating Tomato!!!

anyway, as a Chelsea fan, it would be pleasurable to watch our London rivals sell off their star striker, but not to Manure please.

On another note, reagarding the impending transfer of Robinho to the Bridge, it is said that if Real does sell Robinho for £48 mil, they would have the dough to fund the transfer of Christina to Madrid. That said, it seems like Peter Kenyon finally is doing something right for once.

WE WOULD BE FUNDING REAL TO BRING CHRISTINA AWAY FROM EPL

Jolly eh?

Cheers.

Loyal Son? Or Greedy Bastard?

July 18, 2008 · 1 Comment

Footy season is starting in just over a month, and yet, the futures of some high profile players remain hanging in the balance.

Yes, I’m talking about Frank Lampard, Cristiano Ronaldo and Emmanuel Adebayor’s transfer saga, if you guys haven’t noticed.

is money really that important meh Frank?

well, i’m gonna refrain from commenting on Ronaldo and Ade, its been too long and too boring. if they want to leave, Big Red Ferge from ManUre and Arse-ne Wenger of Arse-nal should just let them. Heck if i care. they faster they leave, the sooner The Blues will reclaim the crown.

anyways, back to Frank. ever since the self-proclaimed genius mastermind Jose Mourinho agreed to take charge of Inter Milan, the Nerrazurri has been constantly hounding up our door, heckling us to sell Frank to them, ON THE CHEAP!

Frank’s been a long time fan favourite, but with only a year left on his contract and with our board of directors refusing to give him the 5 year deal that he wants SO that he can end his career here, he’s almost destined to leave and rejoin Mourinho at Milan.

Franky with Mourinho during better times

Franky with Mourinho during better times

As a fan, i would never want to see any of our best players leave. But lets face the fact, Frank’s heart is set on leaving, whether he admits it or not. Plus, with the inclusion of Deco into the squad with the likes of Robinho yet to show up, competition for a place in an already packed midfield is tough.

Robinho - Chelsea anyone?

Robinho - Chelsea anyone?

so, i’m pretty resigned on the fact that our Frank’s future does not lie at the Bridge anymore. But i’m strongly against people and pundits calling him a greedy footballer. Cristina Ronaldo & Eva Adebayour are greedy, but NO not Franky.

Franky’s has been a Blue boy through and through. if anyone is to blame for him leaving, blame Peter Kenyon and the board of directors for refusing our man a new 5 year contract that he WANTS. DAMN YOU KENYON!

But if Franky does leave, and which i presume is soon, WE (the fans) will wish him all the best.

Now, Andrei Arshavin anyone? ^^

Arshavin - future Blue?

Cheers
